Available since May 2010, Doctor’s Companion™ Australian edition is designed to meet the needs of medical practitioners working in Australia. Once the application is downloaded to your phone, and you have registered on this website to receive your activation code, it brings together a drug guide and information specifically designed to be useful to Australian medical practitioners without having to go online and search multiple websites.
Regular updates will expand the drug database and introduce new features to make Doctor's Companion an essential pocket reference for doctors, nurses, pharmacists, dentists, paramedics and other healthcare professionals.
Doctor's Companion™ Australian edition features:
- Search for over 1,300 drugs by generic or trade name
- Add your own notes, photos or sound recordings to append the drug information provided
- Add drugs to your own ‘formulary’ for quick reference
- View and have the ability to send the drug PI or CMI to an email address
- Choose from over twenty specialty areas to display a calendar of over 500 Australian and International meetings and conferences
- For your convenience, displays links to the website pages that Australian hospitals use for recruitment
- Displays over 860 open clinical trials looking for Australian patient enrolment

How to load Doctor's Companion™ Australian edition to your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad
Step 1 Visit the App Store on iTunes and enter “Doctors Companion” in the search tool. Download the application.
Step 2 To comply with regulations governing the Australian healthcare industry we are required to validate whether you are a registered medical practitioner in Australia. Please register on this website by clicking on the Register button. Please read the registration details carefully and ensure all required fields are completed. You will receive an email from us within a few minutes to confirm we have received your registration. If you do not receive a confirmation email please recheck the email address used in your registration for any typing errors. If you have made an error, please re-register using the correct email address.
Step 3 An activation code will be issued to you via email within one working day. If you have not received your code in that time please look in the FAQ tab for a solution or email us at info@doctorscompanion.com.au
Step 4 Upon starting the application for the first time you will be prompted to enter your code. On your phone go to Settings, find Companion, and enter your activation code (please note your code is case sensitive, so use capital letters if required). Once your code is entered, close Settings and re-open your Doctor's Companion™ Australian edition application which is now ready to use. Re-opening the application will take a few moments as the application reads your activation code for the first time.Remember to perform a drug database update regularly, and download updates as they appear on iTunes, to maintain the most up-to-date drug database.
